South Florida Students Honored

Congratulations to 9 Florida students who have been named as 2014 Presidential scholars.

Six of the nine are from South Florida, the remaining three from the Tampa area.

A total of 141 students nationwide were chosen as Presidential scholars this year.

Here's part of the press release from the US Secretary Arne Duncan announcing the winners:

"...Isabel O’Sullivan of Coral Gables, who attends Ransom Everglades School in Miami; Connor Yockus of Coral Springs, who attends the North Broward Preparatory Schools in Coconut Creek; Isabella Pezzulo of Lake Worth, who attends Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach; Paloma Izquierdo of Miami, who attends the Design & Architecture Senior High School in Miami; Lance Oppenheim of Southwest Ranches, who attends Pine Crest School in Ft. Lauderdale; Haoqing Wang of Tampa, who attends C. Leon King High School in Tampa; and Kevin Mutchnick of Tampa, who attends T.R. Robinson High School in Tampa; as 2014 U.S. Presidential Scholars...".
